TAWANG, Oct 29: Chief Minister Pema Khandu joined the participants during the ‘Run for Nature’ marathon organized as part of the ongoing Tawang Festival here on Monday.
About 500 participants from all over the district took part in the race, which began from Tawang monastery and culminated at the war memorial.
Earlier, Pema also flagged off the race for the veteran and senior girls’ categories.
Speaking on the theme of the marathon, the chief minister exhorted all to save nature and protect the environment for a better future.
The winner in each category walked away with Rs 25,000, while the runners-up and the second runners-up were awarded Rs 15,000 and Rs 7,000, respectively. (CMO)
