‘Educate voters on new voting technologies’

TAWANG, Oct 31: Representatives of political parties requested Tawang district Electoral Roll Observer Rinchin Tashi to give priority to the voters of 3rd Jang-Mogto assembly constituency, and create awareness on the new technologies introduced in the voting system.
Tashi was informed about this during an interaction meet while on a visit to the district headquarter on Wednesday.
‘The voters in this constituency have not casted their vote for a very long period and it was important to educate them about the new system,’ representatives of the political parties said.
Earlier, EAC (Election) Lobsang Tsetan gave detailed report on the progress of electoral roll after which the District Election Officer Sang Phuntosk requested the BLOs and representatives of political parties to place their grievances, if any, before the roll observer.
Addressing the gathering in the DC’s office, the electoral roll observer informed that prior to his visit to Tawang he also visited 3rd Jang-Mogto and 1st Lungla constituencies.
He said that he visited a few polling stations in these constituencies and was satisfied with the infrastructure which was as per the requirements set by the Election Commission of India.
He also requested the political parties to be cooperative, and educate the voters in the process of revision work.
He informed that the hearing for all the claims and objections shall begin from 1st of November. (DIPRO)
