BALIJAN, Nov 6: Papum Pare won the overall championship title in the second Wado State Level Karate-Do Championship, which concluded at the TC Teli multipurpose indoor hall here in Papum Pare district on 4 November.
The runner-up title was won by Lower Subansiri district.
The closing ceremony was attended by Shoto Kan Karate Do Association president Sensei Tai Hipik and Balijan Police Station OC Tilling Habung.
Seventy-seven karatekas of Wado style from six districts participated in the event, which was organized by the Papum Pare District Wado Karate-Do Association, in collaboration with the All Papum Poma Students’ Union.
Earlier, the opening ceremony was attended by Balijan Market Welfare Committee secretary Teli Nita Kamdir, Balijan Block Congress Committee president Tam Tago, ASKA president Dr Marli Ete, and assistant general secretary Yesenso Yun.
