Central Govt. Inter-departmental Cricket Tournament begins

ITANAGAR, Nov 21: The second Arunachal Pradesh Central Government Inter-departmental Cricket Tournament began at APBn Ground, Chimpu near here on Wednesday.
The opening match was played between Prasar Bharati and the defending champion India Post. Prasar Bharati won the match by five runs.
Batting first, Prasar Bharati scored 98 runs in 20 over. Rakesh Doley top scored with 22 runs.
While chasing the target, India Post were all out for 93 runs in 17.2 over.
India Post skipper Kabit Taki scored 29 runs.
BR Meena was declared man-of-the-match for his all round performance. He took four wickets and scored 10 runs in 3 balls.
The third team is the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
BSNL (Arunachal Pradesh) General Manager Dilip Siram, who declared the tournament, said that such recreational sporting activities are very important for government employees due to their busy and monotonous schedule.
The aim of this event is to create a platform for better understanding and mutual cooperation among all the central government employees in the state, the organizers said.
They also informed that more such sporting activities will be conducted in the coming days to strengthen the sense of oneness among them.
