West Kameng gets new FCI depot

BOMDILA, Nov 21: The newly built Food Corporation of India (FCI) depot with 3340 MT storage capacity at Jamiri in West Kameng district was inaugurated by FCI’s North East Zone Executive Director Ashutosh Kr Sinha on 20 November.
Six months of stocks for West Kameng district could be stored in the godown. It will also serve as the buffer godown for destinations, like Seppa in East Kameng and Tawang, according to FCI release.
“Despite hardships, the FCI has been continuously striving for ensuring round-the-year stock availability in Arunachal Pradesh,” said GM (R) SK Saheb, who had taken up the initiative to implement the project.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Area Manager Banderdewa, Tezpur, officers of FCI regional office Itanagar, DFCSO Bomdila, circle officer of Jamiri and deputy GM of HPL.
