ACF demands inquiry into army atrocity in Longkojan

ITANAGAR, Nov 22: Reacting to the brutal treatment meted out to the villagers of Longkojan in Longding district recently by personnel of the Indian Army, the Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) on Thursday demanded an inquiry into the incident.
In a representation to the chief minister, the ACF said innocent people are subjected to inhuman harassment by the armed forces using the Armed Forces Special Powers Act as a pretext.
The forum expressed serious concern over the situation in the militant infested areas of the state, where the common people are often caught in the crossfire between the militants and the armed forces.
It demanded that those who were injured during the army operation in Longkojan be ‘given full cost of medical treatment and all those who were victimized in one way or other be compensated justly.’
