PANGKENG, Dec 10: Power Minister Tamiyo Taga inaugurated the Sarkar Aapke Dwar (SAD) camp organised by the Siang district administration at Pangkeng village on Monday, in the presence of DC Rajeev Takuk, public leaders, and others.
The minister informed the villagers that the state government has launched around 103 schemes in order to ensure the people’s welfare and enable them to become self-dependent.
He spoke about the government’s efforts in bringing about financial inclusion by providing banking services under various schemes, and said “more than 27 crore Jan Dhan Yojana bank accounts have been opened till date.”
Taga said the government is also seeking to establish a fair selection process through the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission and the Staff Selection Board.
He urged the villagers to avail of benefits such as the Ujjwala Yojana and the Vidya Scheme during the camp.
The minister distributed free LPG cylinders, stoves, etc, to the beneficiaries, besides dustbins, farmers’ registration cards and seeds.
Earlier, SAD camps had been organised at Peging Bote (on 7 December) and Kerang village (3 December).
In Dibang Valley district, government departments and banking institutions offered their services at the people’s doorsteps during the Sarkar Aapke Dwar (SAD) camp organised by the administration at Arzoo village on 7 December.
ADC Gautom Hazarika and EAC Toni Mitkong accompanied the HoDs at the camp.
In Tawang, the district administration organised a SAD camp at Hoongla village on Monday, benefitting 700 people.
The camp was inaugurated by DC Sang Phuntsok, who also felicitated the toppers of the Hoongla upper primary school, and handed over a microscope and a science kit for the school.
In Lower Siang district, the administration conducted a SAD camp at Garu village on 8 December.
At the camp, which also featured a demonstration of high-tech farm mechanization, DC AK Singh assured to also organize such camps in other villages of the district.
In Lohit district, the administration organised a SAD camp at Tilangkyong village on Monday. Besides DC Karma Leki, SP DW Thongon and others attended it. (DIPROs)
