Describing Makar Sankranti as one of the most auspicious occasions for the Hindu community, the governor in his message said the festival has a special meaning for Arunachal as thousands of pilgrims visit Parshuram Kund in Lohit district to take a dip in the holy water there on Makar Sankranti.
Welcoming the devotees and pilgrims to the kund, Mishra charged the Lohit administration and the event’s organisers with ensuring care and convenience for the visiting pilgrims there.
The CM also in his message welcomed the pilgrims to Parshuram Kund, and urged the people of the state to “take this opportune moment to begin afresh to build a new and resurgent Arunachal Pradesh.”
