ZIRO, Jan 17: The Lower Subansiri district legal metrology & consumer affairs (LMCA) department booked 12 traders for violating the Legal Metrology (LM) Act during an inspection carried out here on Thursday by a team led by LMCA Inspector Kesang Tashi.
While 11 traders were booked for violating the weights and measures law, one was booked under the Package Commodity Rules for not displaying mandatory declaration on retail packages and selling above the maximum retail price.
The traders were educated on legal metrology laws, and on the need to get weights and measures verified and renewed when due.
