Retention of separate directors in education dept sought

ITANAGAR, Mar 2: The Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) in a representation to the education minister on Saturday requested him to ensure retention of separate posts of the elementary education director and the secondary education director, and to initiate action towards complete bifurcation of elementary and secondary education at the district and block levels “to ensure smooth and effective function of the state’s education system.”
The ATA said it had submitted memorandums to the chief minister and the education minister on 5 July and 19 March, 2018, respectively, for complete bifurcation of elementary and secondary education at the district and block levels.
“On the contrary, it is learnt that the last cabinet meeting of 10 August 2018 and Notification Order No ED2/GAZ/531/2018, dated Itanagar, 11 October, 2018, stated the idea of only one director of school education for effective implementation on the lines of the ISSE, which is not acceptable to the ATA,” the association said.
