DEO appeals for strict adherence to MCC

PASIGHAT, Mar 11: DEO Dr Kinny Singh appealed for strict adherence to the model code of conduct (MCC) and asked for full cooperation from the leaders and government employees.
She also issued an executive order on Monday and directed all to submit their licensed arms and ammunitions under the East Siang district administration, and to keep them in the safe custody of the respective police stations within a period of five days immediately.
The same shall remain deposited till one week after the counting is over, the DC ordered.
Meanwhile, under the watchful eyes of the DEO, media certification and monitoring committee, video surveillance and viewing teams, expenditure monitoring committee etc have been formed and pressed into service to check illegal or over budgeted expenditure or ‘paid news’ etc.
Singh, who is also the East Siang DC, cautioned officers and officials entrusted to election duty to strictly comply with the guidelines of the Election Commission of India and ensure that posters, banners and flags are not put upon unauthorized structures on public places.
In her message to government employees, Dr Singh said, “we are entrusted to facilitate people to democratically choose their government (in our case both at centre and state). Let’s do our duty with utmost sincerity and dedication”
She expressed hope that in such conducive and secured atmosphere, all responsible citizens will definitely come out, participate and exercise their franchise without fear or favour. (DIPRO)
