AALO, Mar 12: West Siang achieved 100 percent immunization coverage under intensive pulse polio campaign.
As many as 7273 children below five years were immunized in the last leg of the campaign on 10 March, and the left out children were immunized during the house-to-house campaign on 11 and 12 March, reports DIPRO.
Polio booths were set up in all the CHCs, PHS, sub-health centres, community ‘Dere’ and Anganwadi centres.
“The target of 100 percent immunization coverage could be achieved due to a long drawn plan and concerted effort put in by all the medical officers, health, ASHAs and Anganwadi workers,” said DHS Chairperson and
West Siang Deputy Commissioner Swetika Sachan.
West Siang DMO Dr. Moli Riba and DRCHO Dr. Tomar Kamki appreciated the efforts put in by all the stakeholders in achieving the target (of 100% immunization coverage).
Pulse polio immunization camp was also organized at the NHPC’s Dibang Multipurpose Project at Roing in Lower Dibang Valley on 10 March, wherein more than 100 children below the five years were given polio drops.
