DEO holds consultative meet with political parties

Trainings for election officials underway in various dists

ROING, Mar 13: As per the direction of Election Commission, the Lower Dibang Valley DEO Mitali Namchoom on Wednesday held a consultative meeting with various political parties, wherein the party representatives were briefed on election model code of conduct, election expenditure monitoring and nomination process etc.
The DEO advised the political parties to follow the rules and guidelines laid down for smooth conduct of the election.
In the meantime, the fourth round of training for polling personnel of LDV commenced at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall here on Wednesday.
Apart from briefing the election officials about their duties and responsibilities, they were imparted training on handling of EVMs and VVPATs.
The DEO advised them to discharge duties and responsibilities with sincerity. She also asked them to get their doubts cleared, if any.
At Tawang, the sector officers were imparted hands-on training on electronic voting machine (EVM) and VVPAT by the district level master trainers on Wednesday.
Later, Tawang DEO Sang Phuntsok took stock of the minimum assured facilities in polling stations as well as received the problems placed by the sector officers.
While briefing the nodal officers appointed to manage the smooth conduct of elections, he informed them about the round-the-clock toll free telephone no.1950 for registration of grievances and complaints related to election, C-Vigil and Suvidha applications.
Person with disability should be given special care, for which a nodal officer has been appointed, he said. DIPRO
