Parties resolve to ensure peaceful re-poll

TARAK LENGDI, Apr 23: The party leaders, agents and supporters of all the MLA candidates in a meeting held here in Kra Daadi district on 21 April resolved to ensure peaceful conduct of the re-poll at the Restaring polling station on 27 April.
The meeting was convened by the Tarak Lengdi circle officer and attended by supporters of the BJP, the INC and the JD (U), besides gaon burahs and others.
The participants discussed the incident that had occurred at the Restaring polling station on 11 April which led to the re-polling. It was unanimously agreed that supporters or agents who create any kind of problem or disturbance on the day of the re-poll would be held responsible for any action.
It was also decided that nobody other than the candidates and the voters of Restaring would be allowed to enter the polling station area during the re-poll.
Further, police check posts will be established at Langdang, Restaring and Nama areas to check any kind of illegal activity on the day of the re-poll.
