ITANAGAR, May 17: The Banderdewa and Karsingsa Youth Welfare Association has requested the capital complex administration to immediately shift the garbage dumping site in Karsingsa to another location.
In a representation to the deputy commissioner, the association said the Itanagar Municipal Council’s garbage is being dumped in Karsingsa, near National Highway 415, “which is totally illegal and against the norms of Solid Waste Management Rules, 2006.”
“The dumping site has no fencing or protection wall to restrict the entry of domestic animals of nearby areas. It also causes a nauseating odour, and the smoke produced from the site is a health hazard and causing harm to the environment,” the association said.
