ITANAGAR, Jun 8: Former director of Rajiv Gandhi University’s Arunachal Institute of Tribal Studies, Prof S Simon John, has joined as the new director of the Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies (CIHCS) in Dahung in West Kameng district.
An autonomous body of the culture ministry, the CIHCS provides instructions in various courses on Indian cultures, and conducts research in different branches of Buddhist philosophical and cultural studies.
“The joining of the new director, who is an experienced and brilliant academician, would usher in a new era of academic excellence in the Himalayan culture and the Buddhist philosophy,” said CIHCS Administrative Officer Aakash Shah.
