ITANAGAR, Jun 11: Claiming that the government higher secondary schools (GHSS) in Nyapin and Sangram circles of Kurung Kumey district are facing acute shortage of subject teachers, the Nyapin Nyobia Sangram Phassang Students’ Union in a representation to the secondary education director here on Tuesday requested the officer to take urgent steps to address the issue.
The union said the schools have been functioning without adequate subject teachers of geography, history and political science for the last couple of years, due to which, it said, the students are facing problems in completing their syllabi.
“The union had submitted representations to the government earlier for immediate posting of teachers, but no steps have been initiated by the education department to address the same as yet,” it said.
