DC directs principal to serve show cause notices to 5 teachers

LONGDING, Jun 24: Five absentee teachers of the government higher secondary school (GHSS) here are likely to face disciplinary action as the deputy commissioner has directed the principal of the school to serve show cause notices to them.
According to a DIPRO report, DC Cheshta Yadav during her recent visit to the GHSS found five teachers of the school absent from their duty. She asked the school’s principal to serve show cause notices to them immediately.
The DC further asked the principal to “work with full authority to discipline the irregular teachers in order to create an atmosphere in the school that is conducive to teaching and learning.”
Yadav also met the school admission board members and directed them to give admission to eligible students from all the schools in the district, including public and private, who wish to take admission, apart from the students from the feeder schools.
“Such a step will give much relief to the parents and children who were denied admission earlier,” she said.
Later, the DC interacted with the children in the classrooms and advised them to come to school in proper uniform and study hard for a bright future.
On being informed about the lack of a toilet for the girl students of the school, she assured to look into the matter.
