NAMSAI, Jul 5: The MLAs Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Jummum Ete Deori along with deputy commissioner Dr Tapasya Raghav and district medical officer Dr Nang Soreya Namchoom distributed kits and bicycles to the ANMs and ASHA workers here on Friday.
The ANM kits containing facility specific kit bag like digital weigh scale, Digital BP Instrument, Stethoscope, Digital Thermometre, Glucometre (Monitor + Test Strip), Sahlis’ Haemocheck, MUAC Tape, Blood Grouping Reagent and Torch Light were distributed to 15 of them. Also the 149 ASHAs of the district received kits along with bicycles.
DC Dr Tapasya Raghav thanked the elected representatives of the district for supporting the initiative. She also stated that Namsai is the first district in the state to come up with such a beneficiary and service provider friendly initiative. She urged all the ANMS/HWOS, ASHAs and AFs to work with zeal.
Local MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom pledged to extend support for such initiative in future too. Lekang MLA Jummum Ete Deori also spoke on the occasion.
