ITANAGAR, Jul 25: Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have in separate messages paid solemn tributes to the martyrs of the Kargil war, on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Divas.
“Kargil Vijay Divas is a very special day for every Indian. In the 60-day war, demonstrating unparalleled valour, many of our soldiers and officers made the ultimate sacrifice for the defence of our country,” the governor said in his message, and expressed optimism that “the sacrifices made by the martyrs would continue to inspire the present and future generations to rise to the occasion in support of the frontline soldiers who guard the frontiers of the motherland.”
Khandu in his message called on the people to “pay rich tributes to the brave martyrs and pledge solidarity with the jawans and officers of the Indian armed forces serving in various parts of the country.”
“In Arunachal Pradesh we live in close proximity and in constant touch with the Army. On this day, let’s send them a message that we are with them through thick and thin, and view their sacrifices in high esteem,” the CM said. (Raj Bhavan & CMO)
