ITANAGAR, Aug 6: Ward No 3 defeated SPD FC 2-1 in a match of the Independence Day football tournament played here on Tuesday.
Jhumi and Jarjo netted the goals for the winning team, while the lone goal for SPD FC was scored by Tadak Ramching in the 61st minute.
Earlier, the first match of the day, played between Chimpu FC and Panthers FC, ended in 1-1 draw, according to the organizers.
IX Pirates FC will take on Chandranagar FC on Wednesday at 2 pm, and T-Group FC will meet Tara SC at 3:30 pm.
