ITANAGAR, Aug 6: The All Mengio Students’ Union on Tuesday submitted a four-point memorandum to the education minister, and urged him to initiate urgent steps to address the issues contained in the memorandum in the interest of the students of Mengio in Papum Pare district.
The union demanded immediate posting of subject teachers at the government secondary school (GSS) in Mengio (Sakiang), and posting of a “full-fledged headmaster” at the GSS in Sakiang.
It also sought posting of mathematics and Hindi teachers at every school in Mengio and Silsango circles, besides providing proper infrastructure at the GSS in Mengio (Sakiang).
“The school was upgraded to a secondary school from middle school in 2008, but there is no proper infrastructure in the school. Proper boundary wall, furniture and other basic amenities are urgently required at the school,” the union said.
