East Siang gets new SP

PASIGHAT, Aug 23: Rajiv Ranjan Singh is the new superintendent of police (SP) of East Siang district.
He took the charge from outgoing SP Prashant Gautam, who has been transferred as SP (security), Itanagar.
After assuming charge, Singh said offences against women would be dealt with with an iron hand. He also said he would give priority to maintaining law and order, besides ensuring transparency in the police department.
“All available resources would be utilized in maintaining safety, security, peace and tranquility in the society,” Singh said, and sought cooperation from all stakeholders to deter crimes and criminals.
The SP urged the residents to register their grievances fearlessly, adding that priority would also be given to community policing to bridge the gap between the police and the civilians.
Meanwhile, Esha Pandey, who was serving as the Tirap SP, on Thursday joined as commandant of the 5th IRBn here. (DIPRO)
