NEC plenary meet begins today

ITANAGAR, Sep 7: The 68th plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) will begin in Guwahati, Assam, on 8 September.
Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra and Chief Minister Pema Khandu are expected to raise various issues related to infrastructure development, health and education, skill development, road and air connectivity, and improving policing, besides insurgency and antinational activities, during the meeting.
Mishra has already arrived in Guwahati to participate in the plenary session.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is also the chairman of the NEC, will chair the meeting. Union MoS (Independent) for DoNER Jitendra Singh, governors and chief ministers of the northeastern states, along with senior officers from the central and state governments will attend the meeting.
