LONGLING, Sep 9: Members of the Hawai-Walong unit of the Cultural and Literary Society of Mishmi (CALSOM) conducted programmes at various schools here in Anjaw district to create awareness on cleanliness, health and hygiene, literacy, and global warming.
The programmes also included cleaning of school premises, water supply connection, and electricity service connection, besides whitewashing of the school buildings, repairing of desks, benches and beds, and plantation of saplings.
Later, the CALSOM team, led by its unit secretary Lesamso Minin, chairman Sony Pul, joint secretary Jango Halai and others donated a volleyball set and dustbins to the school authority.
Hawai CO Rupir Siboh and representatives from the public works, PHE and power departments also participated in the activities. (DIPRO)
