ZIRO, Sep 12: The Lower Subansiri district election office on Thursday conducted a ‘sensitization and familiarization programme on electors verification programme (EVP)’ here for representatives of political parties, the community service centre and the community information centre.
The programme featured a demonstration on the procedure for verification on the NVSP portal as well as the EVP mobile app, which can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
ERO Priscilla Tayeng informed that it is mandatory for all voters to have their details verified either on the ECI’s portal or through the mobile app by 15 October.
“Therefore all of us have to gear up and create as much awareness regarding the EVP for 100 percent verification before the deadline,” she said.
It was decided to rope in All India Radio and the local cable network, and to activate ELCs in the schools and colleges to ensure maximum participation. (DIPRO)
