Workshop held as part of NADCP

DIGBAK, Sep 12: The Upper Subansiri Krishi Vigyan Kendra in collaboration with the animal husbandry & veterinary department organized a workshop at Digbak village on 11 September as part of the nationwide launch of the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) to eradicate foot and mouth disease (FMD) and Brucellosis, and the National Artificial Insemination Programme.
Interacting with the farmers, DVO Dr D Murtem and VO Dr Tagi Dango spoke about artificial insemination, vaccination and management of FMD and Brucellosis.
Agriculture extension specialist Topi Riba gave a lecture on the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and the PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana to sensitize the farmers to the schemes.
HGB Taluk Digbak urged the farmers to fully cooperate in achieving the objective of bringing about complete control of FMD by 2025 with vaccination, and its eradication by 2030.
Mithuns and pigs were vaccinated against FMD, Brucellosis and hog cholera, and Ivermectin injections were administered to dogs to control scabies, ticks and fleas.
Meanwhile, the live webcast of the launch of the PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was screened at Lempia village in Lower Subansiri district by the KVK on Thursday.
Agronomy scientist Yowa Nunu apprised the 127 participating farmers of the new pension schemes for farmers.
