CM lauds Shergaon VKV’s contributions

SHERGAON, Sep 13: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday visited the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) here in West Kameng district, and commended the school’s role in laying a strong foundation for education in Arunachal.
Promising that the memorandum submitted by the school authorities would be honoured, the CM urged the students to “lead a disciplined life and focus on having a strong educational foundation,” so that they may be well-prepared for any future competition.
Khandu also addressed a gathering of the locals, and, responding to a memorandum submitted by the Shergaon village council for construction of the Shergaon-Demachang road and extension of the Shergaon-Doimara-Foothill-Misamari-Thelamara road, promised to take up the projects in consultation with the local MLA and the DC.
He informed that the guest houses in Balemu, Tenzingaon and Shergaon have been sanctioned, and that their construction would start this year.
Following the meeting at the VKV, the CM participated in a small public meeting at Domkho village.
In response to a memorandum from the locals, Khandu assured to take up the demand for a mini hydel project, and for conversion of the health sub-centre there to a primary health centre.
The CM was accompanied by MLAs Jambey Tashi, Phurpa Tsering, Dorjee Wangdi Kharma and Tsering Tashi, and former speaker TN Thongdok. (CMO)
