Orgs demand arrest in fatal hit-and-run case

AALO, Sep 20: The Paktu Ao Youth Welfare Association (PAYWA) and various other clan-based unions and associations took out a candlelight march here in West Siang district to protest the death of Poi Doji Lollen in a hit-and-run incident that occurred near the treasury office here.
The victim succumbed to her injuries on 17 September in Dibrugarh, Assam, five days after the day of the incident.
The PAYWA has demanded arrest of the person involved
in the hit-and-run within three days, besides installation of high-definition CCTV cameras at all the important tri-junctions in Aalo town, and checking underage driving.
The association has threatened to launch a democratic movement if the person involved in the case is not arrested.
The bereaved family has also appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration and the police in tracing the person involved in the incident. (DIPRO)
