ITANAGAR, Oct 22: The Arunachal Indigenous Students’ Union (AISU) on Tuesday submitted a six-point memorandum to the chief minister, and urged him to initiate early steps to address the issues contained in the memorandum.
The union is demanding shifting of all government and private schools to areas away from the national highway; renaming Rajiv Gandhi University as Arunachal University; installing biometric attendance system in every government school; introducing helicopter services for people settled in remote areas like, Tali, Pipsorang, Sarli, Damin, etc; erecting streetlights in the twin capital towns; and assigning specific areas for celebration of Vishwakarma Puja, Durga Puja, etc, and for immersion of idols during such occasions.
