TAWANG, Nov 5: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to attend the 11th edition of Maitree Divas, which will be celebrated here on 14 and 15 November.
The preparations for Maitree Divas, which seeks to promote civil-military cooperation, were reviewed during a meeting among the district administration, senior Army officers, representatives of NGOs, and public leaders here on Tuesday.
Matters ranging from organising a ‘Run for Tawang’ marathon to cleanliness drive and painting and essay competitions were discussed during the meeting.
DC (in-charge) Lobsang Tsering and Tawang Brigade Deputy Commander, Col Aditya Negi, sought cooperation from all
to ensure successful conduct of the events.
NGO Yuva Arunachal president Tsetan Chombay and market secretaries were also present.
Earlier in the morning, 5 Mountain Division GOC, Maj Gen Deepak Saini, along with other senior Army officers held a meeting with the DC, other officers and the Yuva Arunachal president. They also inspected the preparations for Maitree Divas.
