PASIGHAT, Nov 5: A team of officials from the East Siang district legal metrology & consumer affairs department conducted an unannounced inspection in the main market here and booked five traders for violation of provisions of the Legal Metrology Act and the Packaged Commodities Rules.
Four traders were booked for selling packaged commodities without the mandatory information, while a trader was booked for packing and selling commodities without packer registration as required under the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.
The team also inspected various petrol pumps and test-checked the accuracy in delivery of petrol.
