MLAs seek innovative ideas for P/Pare’s development

YUPIA, Nov 17: Former chief minister and Sagalee MLA Nabam Tuki urged the officers of Papum Pare district to “come up with innovative ideas and concepts to formulate a futuristic, target-oriented five-year perspective development plan for the district,” focusing on the socioeconomic sector.
Chairing the district development committee meeting here on 15 November to formulate the five-year plans of all the departments of the district, Tuki cited the example of various incomplete projects in the district and stressed on “prioritizing the critical schemes that are lying incomplete due to financial and infrastructures shortage.”
The MLA requested the HoDs to accord priority to essential schemes and projects like roads, bridges, power, education, health “and other income-oriented schemes like industries, tourism, agriculture and horticulture.”
Doimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara, who along with Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso also attended the meeting, urged the HoDs to maintain proper coordination and “prepare need-based development plans which must be innovative and feasible.”
He also requested officers to stay at their places of posting and sensitize the public to the developmental schemes of the government.
Kaso also spoke.
Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu gave assurance that “all developmental plans will be properly reviewed by consulting with the HoDs concerned.”
The officers made PowerPoint presentations on their departments’ achievements, proposals and issues. (DIPRO)
