MLA calls for peaceful coexistence

ZIRO, Nov 29: Agriculture Minister Tage Taki has urged the Tanw Supun Dukun (TSD), the apex body of the Apatani community, to work together for peaceful coexistence of all, beyond party politics.
Attending an event organized by the TSD here in Lower Subansiri district on Friday, the minister highlighted activities which could be taken up by the TSD and its affiliated NGOs “to avoid overlapping of activities on pan-Apatani issues.”
Taki also clarified the actual position with regard to the Trans-Arunachal Highway issue in the Ziro-Hapoli area and other parts of Arunachal.
The TSD’s governing council chairman, Hibu Dole, urged all the members of the community to “activate their activities for the all-round development of the Apatani community,” while TSD president Hage Tado highlighted “the role played by the TSD in streamlining the socioeconomic issues of the community at various levels.”
TSD general secretary Pura Guth Tago enumerated the various initiatives taken up by the TSD, including for communal harmony, under aegis of the Arunachal Indigenous Tribes’ Forum.
Members of the Apatani Cultural and Literary Society, the Apatani Career Guidance Forum, the Apatani Women Association Ziro, the Supun Buiyan Council, the Apatani Gaon Bura Welfare Association, the Apatani Youth Association, and the Apatani Students’ Union, among others, attended the event. (DIPRO)
