JULLY, Nov 29: The closing ceremony of the four-day sports and cultural meet of the Himalayan University (HU) was held at the university’s campus here on Thursday.
Over the four days, the students participated in various sports, cultural and literary events like athletics, football, volleyball, cultural presentations, poetry recitations, essay competition, etc.
Capital SP Tumme Amo, along with several others, including former Kurung Kumey ZP chairperson Tarh Talo and Arunachal Civil Society chairman Patey Tayum, attended the event.
The SP, who attended the cultural event, advised the students to obey traffic rules, and urged youths to stay away from drug addiction and concentrate on their careers.
Patel House emerged the overall champion. Andinga Tacho won the award for the ‘best poet’, and Sunny Kari and Kesang Lhamu won the Mr and Miss Himalayan University title, respectively.
The winners of various cultural and sports activities were awarded prizes. HU VC Dr HS Sharma and registrar Dr Vivek Mittal also spoke.
