National Pension Week launched

CHANGLANG, Nov 30: The launch of the National Pension Week for unorganized workers with a monthly income of upto Rs 15,000 by union Labour & Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar was webcast in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall here on Saturday.
Besides Changlang DC RK Sharma, Labour Officer (in-charge) MN Taloh and several workers and traders witnessed the launch.
The DC explained the components of the pension scheme, and encouraged the workers to get themselves enrolled. He also explained the procedures of joining the pension scheme.
A weeklong programme has been launched, during which enrollment activities will be carried out under the PM’s Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PMSYMY) and the National Pension Scheme for Traders.
Meanwhile, in Itanagar, the labour department launched the National Pension Scheme for traders and self-employed youths, and the PMSYMY for unorgani-sed workers, at the DK convention centre on Saturday.
The event, which was organised by the capital complex administration, saw the participation of members of various trade unions and organisations, besides unorganised labou-rers from various sectors.
Labour & Employment Secretary AS Talwade highlighted the benefits of the two schemes, and EAC Dakli Gara informed that over 100 individuals from the unorganised sector registered under the scheme on Saturday. He also informed about the weeklong observation of the National Pension Week.
Deputy Labour Commissioner Khoda Hinda and Assistant Labour Commissioner Ozing Rukhba also attended the event. (DIPROs)
