Banks asked to conduct fin’l literacy camps

TAWANG, Dec 12: Tawang DC Sang Phuntsok on Thursday asked the banks in the district to conduct “regular financial literacy campaigns and facilitate the villagers with banking services during the Sarkar Aapke Dwar camps organized by the administration.”
He said this during a meeting of the district consultative committee and the district-level security committee of the lead bank here.
Local MLA Tsering Tashi and SP B Kamduk, besides administrative officer, HoDs, and branch managers of all the banks in Tawang attended the meeting.
Lead Bank Manager B Basumatary presented a review of the credit flow of the quarter ended 30 September, 2019, and “formation of the special subcommittee for CD ratio.”
Discussions on bank-wise achievements in priority sector loans, progress reports on recovery of loans, the performance of the banks under the Stand-Up India scheme, the PMEGP, the PMMY, the KVIC and the NULM were also held.
Later, a special sub-committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Tawang ADC, based on the instruction of the Reserve Bank of India and the Centre’s instruction to increase the CD ratio of the banks in Tawang. (DIPRO)
