MIKONG, Dec 28: MLA Ninong Ering on Saturday inaugurated the village organisation (VO) office constructed by SHG Aangun Molai in Mikong village, in East Siang district.
The office has been constructed solely by the women of the village.
In his address, the MLA praised the endeavour of the women, and stressed on the need for “women empowerment and self-dependence.”
He also highlighted the role played by SHGs and NGOs in developmental activities in every sector.
Ruksin APRB Branch Manager Ashim Roy apprised the villagers of the government’s schemes, and assured that the bank would provide assistance to the villagers.
Besides Aangun Molai president Yater Jerang and its secretary-general Osi Taga, the function was attended by Bilat GHSS Principal Tagin Tatan, Ruksin EAC Tatling Pertin, HDO Omi Tayeng, ADO Aloko Siram, GBs, and others.
