Musician to build martyr’s memorial

KHONSA, Jan 25: Umesh Gopinath Jadhav, a musician from Bangalore who is on a mission to collect soils from the courtyards and burial places of the martyrs of India and trying to contribute in his way to build a martyrs’ memorial at Pulwama, called on Tirap SP Kardak Riba at his official residence here on Saturday.
During the brief interaction with the SP, Jadhav informed that he had started his mission on 9 April, 2019 from Mandya in Karnataka and will be reaching Pulwama on 14th of next month.
He has reportedly already covered 23 states and 52500 km during his mission.
Jadhav said “it is a humble endeavour to pay tribute to the great souls of the martyrs by trying to reach to the bereaved families with a message that their martyrdoms have proved that country comes first and we as Indians are connected and united through the soil of our motherland.”
The SP appreciated his effort for the martyrs and wished him good health to fulfil his mission and commitment for the country.
Prominent public figures of Tirap district, Hanliam Sumnyam also joined the interaction at the SP’s bungalow and appreciated Jadhav for his selfless job for the country.
Jadhav will also pay tribute to martyr Ashok Chakra Hav. Hangpan Dada.
Assistant Commandant 36th BN CrPF Daniel, Khonsa PS OC Inspector W Kamhua and SI O Rongrang were also present during the interaction programme. (DIPRO)
