Induction trg for HWOs organized

NAHARLAGUN, Jan 27: The Arunachal Pradesh State Health Society conducted a three-day ‘induction training-cum-orientation programme’ for health and wellness officers (HWO) here from 23 to 25 January as part of the Ayushman Bharat mission.
Around 35 HWOs from Papum Pare, the capital complex, Tawang and East Kameng attended the training in its first phase.
State-level trainers Dr Tumge Loyi, Dr Tilling Gambo and Mary Tayum conducted the training, using methods such as PowerPoint, ‘carousal’, role-play, ‘buzz activities’, rotational poster presentation, etc. The training was also supported by Jhpiego programme officer Lasumi Shylla.
During the inauguration function on 23 January, state nodal officers Dr L Jampa and Deputy Director (Nursing) Kijum Karga highlighted the importance of health & wellness centres in providing comprehensive primary healthcare to the community and the roles and responsibilities of HWOs.
The induction training will be organised in three batches. The other two will be organised at Pasighat and Namsai in February.
HWC Assistant Nodal Officer Dipu Lowang informed that Arunachal has already made more than 100 HWCs operational and the state is targeting to make about 377 HWCs operational by 2021-22.
