State to stand still for 2 mins on Martyrs’ Day

ITANAGAR, Jan 28: The state government has decided to observe Martyrs’ Day, on 30 January, in a befitting manner to honour those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence.
According to an instruction issued by the state government to the district administrations, two minutes’ silence will be observed and work and movement of people will stopped at 11 am on 30 January.
The day will also be observed in the educational institutions across the state with various programmes.
Meanwhile, the capital complex administration has issued a circular asking government offices, school authorities, NGOs, business establishments, and the public to observe the day in memory of those who gave their lives in the struggle for India’s independence.
