Vets undergo refresher training

ITANAGAR, Feb 9: Seventy-five veterinarians and paraveterinarians participated in a two-day refresher training organised here by the State Veterinary Council (SVC) recently, in collaboration with the animal husbandry & veterinary department.
SVC president Dr K Basar highlighted the objective of continuing veterinary education (CVE) and informed that “CVE is a mandatory activity of the centrally-sponsored professional efficiency development scheme.”
The scheme’s objective is to keep veterinarians updated with the latest developments, skills, and new technologies to improve their professional knowledge and competence in all areas, including professional ethics.
The training was supervised by surgical specialist Dr N Tayo and VTI instructor Dr O Rukbo.
“Understanding the principle of surgery is key to equip the necessary knowledge to perform clinical surgery on the field efficiently and to support veterinary services effectively,” Dr Tayo said.
