Training on promotion of integrated farming held

PASIGHAT, Mar 4: Three days skill development training cum demonstration programme on ‘promotion of integrated farming system’ for extension functionaries, organized by the East Siang district Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), concluded at the office conference hall here in East Siang district on Wednesday.
Attending the inaugural session, Dean of Pasighat College of Horticulture & Forestry (CHF) Professor, BN Hazarika, briefed about integrated farming and its economic prospects.
In the technical session, Subject Matter Specialist (Fisheries) SM Hussain highlighted the need of integrated farming that is necessary to maintain balanced diet, enhancement of food security and income generation. He also gave a demonstration on construction and layout of integrated farming unit, low cost rain water harvesting, and prophylactic measures to be taken up for fish farming.
Other resource persons, including TE Vida, Toge Riba, Dr Neeta Longjam, and RK Salam also gave presentation on different topics of integrated farming system.
Twenty-five extension functionaries from different districts attended the training.
