ITANAGAR, Mar 18: A group of PRI members and gaon burahs of 75th Karsingsa, Dobum and Banderdewa Panchayats, in a representation to the town planning & urban local body secretary on Tuesday, appealed to conduct a public hearing and reassessment of the notification no. DTP/MUN-COR- 01/2018-19, dated 15th October, 2019 regarding the interface between ward No. 20 (Limits of Itanagar Municipal Council under the Arunachal Pradesh Municipal Act, 2007 Act No. 4 of 2008) as Itanagar Municipal Corporation Map and Panchayat jurisdiction.
The PRI members and gaon burahs claimed that the department has notified some parts of the 75th Karsingsa gram panchayat constituency, Banderdewa panchayat and Dobum panchayat jurisdiction under the urban area for the forthcoming Arunachal Pradesh Municipal election for Itanagar Municipal Council without conducting public hearing.
It has further urged the department to conduct the public hearing and rectify the interface map and voters list of ward no. 20 of Itanagar Municipal Council for the greater interest of the people.
