KOLORIANG, Mar 19: A pre-panchayat election awareness campaign themed ‘Leadership incubation through Panchayati Raj System’ was organized by the Panchayati Raj department in collaboration with the Kurung Kumey district administration and the rural works department at the DC’s conference hall here on Wednesday.
Addressing the participants, which included former PRI members, administrative officers, HoDs of various departments and villagers of Kurung Kumey district, Deputy Commissioner Kento Riba said that the election to the local bodies would be held soon.
He also informed that two more such awareness campaigns will also be organized at Nyapin and Patuk ADC headquarters.
He also alerted the participants regarding the novel coronavirus pandemic and advised all to follow precautionary measures to prevent the spread of infection.
CO cum DPDO Dr Dana Unna briefed regarding the salient features of the Arunachal Panchayati Raj System Amendment Act, 2018 and the two-tier PR system.
Resource persons from various departments, like the Panchayati Raj, rural development, PHE, ICDS and health imparted awareness on various flagship programmes and schemes for villagers in their local bodies.
DMO Dr Gumjum Ete and DSO (IDSP) Dr Boni Tuluk also gave awareness on various health schemes like RKS, CMAAY, MID etc.
