DMO dismisses rumour

PASIGHAT, Mar 25: East Siang DMO Dr Kaling Dai has dismissed the rumour circulating in social media that a person [name omitted], who returned from Chennai recently, is a Covid-19 positive patient.
D. Dai said the rumour is totally false and baseless.
“The fact has been verified by the district surveillance officer and found to be absolutely false and baseless,” the DMO said.
Dr Dai said that as per the standard operating procedure, all those who return from Covid affected states are put under home quarantine for at least 14 days, wherein the persons quarantined are advised to maintain social distancing.
Dr Dai said all those who are put under home quarantine after their return from Covid-19 affected states are not Covid-19 patients.
They are enlisted as suspect, since they have returned from the affected states, he said.
He appealed to the public that quarantine notice should not be taken as Covid-19 positive patient.
