Public spitting banned

ITANAGAR, Apr 21: Health Secretary P Parthiban has issued an order under the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1987, banning spitting of gutkha, tobacco, pan masala, betel nuts, etc, “and discharge of sputum or saliva in any form in public places,” stating that the unhealthy practice might potentially lead to spread of Covid-19.
“Such practice is banned and is punishable as per law with immediate effect in the state,” the secretary said.
