Meeting on schemes’ convergence held

KOLORIANG, Sep 17: An ‘awareness-cum-coordination meeting’ of the Kurung Kumey district water and sanitation mission committee was held here on Thursday, in connection with the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and its convergence with the MGNREGA and the FFG.

During the meeting, which was presided over by DC (in-charge) Nabam Tajik, PHE&WS EE Bamang Tadh spelt out the modalities of the JJM, community sanitary complex, and convergence of various programmes of the MGNREGA with the JJM, the SBM (G)-II and the Samudayik Shauchalaya Abhiyan.

The EE sought the participants’ cooperation in the implementation of the schemes in the district. He also sought cooperation from the district project director and the district panchayat development officer in conducting a consultative meeting before implementing the convergence activities.

The DC said that the list of habitations or villages targeted for the convergence activities “have to be submitted to the PHED for onward preparedness thereof, (and) the engineers of both the departments have to visit the site together for geotagging before commencement of the work.”

Among others, ICDS DD Ringu Kama, ARCS Tarh Chakum, government officials and base officers of the implementing agency attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
