NAMSAI, 15 Mar: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein along with Namsai MLA Chau Zingnu Namchoom and Lekang MLA Jummum Ete Deori distributed helmets at a function organized by the Namsai unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) during the ongoing state executive meeting of the BJP Mahila Morcha here on Monday.
In a bid to promote safe riding habits and encourage two-wheeler riders to always wear a helmet, the Namsai BJYM launched the awareness campaign and helmet distribution programme with the theme ‘Safe ride, save life’.
“We have to join hands with the police personnel and raise awareness on the importance of wearing helmets,” said Mein, and appealed to all to make wearing helmets and seatbelts and driving responsibly a “way of life.”
He said the BJYM’s initiative to promote education and create awareness on road safety was praiseworthy. (DCM’s PR Cell)
