RUKSIN, 6 Apr: The sub-divisional administration here in East Siang district has decided to give cash award to the three cleanest villages under Ruksin sub-division.
Ruksin ADC Tajing Jonnom has taken the initiative under the ‘health and sanitation plan’ of the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan to encourage the villagers to keep their villages clean.
“Through this initiative, we are making an effort to encourage the villagers to keep their village surroundings clean and waste-free,” the ADC said in a meeting with the GBs, PRI and public leaders and SHG members, here on Tuesday.
The award will be given annually at the Statehood Day celebration.
A 10-member joint screening committee, comprising the circle officers of Ruksin, Bilat and Sille circles, PHED officials and ZPMs was also constituted. The committee headed by Circle Officer Oyam Saring will visit the villages quarterly to assess the cleaning activities.

The GBs, the PRI, public leaders and SHG members supported the move and urged the officials to provide technical support.
